Key improvements of the GRASS 6.4.4RC1 release include ...

Since the 6.4.0 release in September 2010 more than xx source code modifications have been made to the 6.4 release branch. Between 6.4.3 and the current 6.4.4RC1 more than yy updates have been applied.
