A pre-tiling engine could be propsed in the product

Description

The pre-tiling engine proposed by websoft dev ( http://www.websoftdev.com/services_spatial_download.cfm) is not supported by MGOS 2.x and upper. They never answer about the compliance of this tool which can be considered as deprecated.

It won't be too difficult to integrate a new function in mapagent, or maybe to open source the code of websoft dev and put the bin in the mapguide server bin directory.

If websoft does not respond to inquries about version compliance, I find it hard to believe that they will open source their code.

The preview release of Maestro has a pre-tiling engine built in (scroll down):  http://trac.osgeo.org/mapguide/wiki/maestro/Downloads

Zac Spitzer has a web-based pre-tiling engine:  http://zacster.blogspot.com/2008/07/mapguide-tile-cache-seeder.html

#922 means this is no longer the case

As long as Maestro includes MgCooker?, I think we can consider this need to be met by the MapGuide project; I don't think that we need to duplicate this in the Server/Web? tiers.
