Regina, Paul, do you agree about installing postgis_restore.pl in the same place shp2pgsql and pgsql2shp are installed ? (bindir)

I'm indifferent. Can we put this off till 2.3? I'm just used to finding it in contrib/postgis_version/… is all so I'd have to change my installer setup to install there.
I also don't know if it would be version specific, so probably a bad idea to put it in bin if it is version specific.

Uhm, good point about version-specific. Indeed the current postgis_restore.pl converts "srid" to "st_srid" and truncates/modifies srids to stick in the new (2.0+) range.
Let's keep it where it is then, version specific.
I've spotted this happening since 2.0 - the script was actually not installed as of 1.5
