I've double checked and it seems the fixes (https://github.com/qt/qtbase/commit/c43db6f765683190ba044ff1c0bd818d4d8d5eea, https://github.com/qt/qtbase/commit/c93c8e84a1aae1ef5762047fb1f3f84af8166b2c) are actually already integrated in the OSGeo4W Qt package version 5.15.3, although they were introduced in the official Qt distribution only since Qt 5.15.7. I apologise for the noise.

What is the actual fix? IIRC we switched to the
KDE branchKDE patch collection to get those fixes back in Apr 2022 and Qt LTS is not free.
