Grass Raster Fails to Load in QGIS

A mismatch in gdal-grass to gdal or incorrect build order results in QGIS returning an error about invalid raster layer when you try to load one. The layer works fine in grass and in other copies of QGIS on other operating systems.

Does not occur on a base install of only QGIS, QGIS-Grass and Python-qgis. Will report later the package difference between a working version and none working version.
