Description

The installer always creates Desktop shortcuts to "OSGeo4W Shell" even if the "Create icon on Desktop" checkbox is not checked.

The link is created on the Desktop in a folder named like the "Start menu name" at the end of the post install processes.

I agree that this is a defect. Not only is putting shortcuts on the desktop contrary to best practices, the OSGeo4W Shell shortcut is already in the Start Menu, so this shortcut is just duplicate cruft.

Using the installer I just now downloaded from ​http://download.osgeo.org/osgeo4w/osgeo4w-setup-x86_64.exe, it continues to place an OSGeo4W folder on the desktop even though Create icon on desktop is not checked.
