Since he's not around let me answer
- matrix-client => CNAME to web.osgeo3.osgeo.org
- DNS only - we still have issue with dynamic sites that use proxy so I've only been using those for static sites or redirects

Replying to strk:
And I guess chat => CNAME to matrix-client
Are you planning to run these on the matrix instance or you are setting up a separate instance for them. I was thinking if you are going to have it on the same instance, makes sense to just CNAME them all to matrix.osgeo.org, that way if we move the container that's the only dns entry that needs changing.

That would probably be blocked on #2988, so my slight preference would be towards a separate instance.
But Element Web is just a static website, it doesn't need a lot of resources to run.

Is this correct?
- Type: CNAME
- Name: matrix-client
- IPv4 address (required): web.osgeo3.osgeo.org
- Proxied or DNS only: DNS only
or
- Name: matrix

We've already got a matrix.osgeo.org, but the CNAME should be matrix.osgeo.org since per strk, it is going to run on the matrix instance
So:
- Type: CNAME
- Name: matrix-client
- IPv4 address (required): matrix.osgeo.org
- Proxied or DNS only: DNS only
@strk I need some information
