Description
There is an update of the official OSGeo logo. Read this: http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Logo_Update
The standard size with the standard tag line "Your Open Source Compass" is available at: http://svn.osgeo.org/osgeo/marketing/logo/png24/osgeo.png
This version should be copied to the Drupal all/themes directory at: http://www.osgeo.org/sites/all/themes/osgeo/logo.png
This Trac instance and SVN should also be updated.
Would it make sense to make all software / web services link to one central version that is available at the root of http://www.osgeo.org? It would make things a lot easier next time or if we decide to change it for christmas, easter, next birthday, etc. This is just an idea.

I've been looking at /var/www/osgeo/themes/ on 'osgeo1', there are four subdirectories which contain a 'logo.png': 'bluemarine', 'chameleon', 'garland' and 'pushbutton'. I did replace the respective 'logo.png' with the one announced at:
http://svn.osgeo.org/osgeo/marketing/logo/png24/osgeo.png
in one directory after another (renaming to 'logo.png', of course), but I was unable to notice a difference when reloading the entire 'www.osgeo.org' site from scratch. Did I simply investigate the wrong directories ?

In short yes. The correct place is /var/www/html/sites/all/themes/osgeo on osgeo1
The old logo had apparently more whitespace around it, it now looks a bit crammed? Should I change the theme to compensate?

Are you updating in SVN and then checking out to the website?
http://svn.osgeo.org/osgeo/webcom/themes/osgeo/
This was done in the past (I think) so that designers wouldn't need to have shell access to osgeo1.

Should we have two copies of the logo, one in /marketing and one in /webcom?
How can I check out to the website on osgeo1? What credentials do I need?

Please reomve the logo http://download.osgeo.org/osgeo/logos/OSGeo.jpg
and all other versions that are available at: http://download.osgeo.org/osgeo/logos/
Maybe put the new logos there too although SVN should be all we need.
