#250 closed task (fixed)

Create SVN and Trac instances for OSGeo4W project

Reported by: Jeff McKenna Owned by: sbarnes
Priority: normal Milestone:

Description

OSGeo4W currently uses the generic OSGeo trac and svn instances, so some work is required to port those into its own instance. ShawnB has volunteered to do this work.

I have a preliminary svn setup for osgeo4w. Osgeo4w has been parsed out of the generic osgeo trac instance and the osgeo4w/ dir from the original repository has been changed to trunk/.

Please have a look and see if anything is amiss (or if anything has been commited between yesterday and tomorrow morning). If all is good then i'll finish up the transition to it's own svn/trac instances tomorrow morning.

Shawn,

I have taken a look, and stuff like express_package.cc is missing from the copied repository. What's with that?

comment:5 by sbarnes, 16 years ago

Jeff,

  1. What's with that?
  2. My bad, regex.

Can you take a look now. I think the problem i was having was in running a search and replace on the filtered dump file.... i was replacing osgeo4w with trunk as the root directory name. I've refined the search and replace and hopefully i got it this time.

(ignore, I never received any of these email notifications for this ticket...so I'm testing)

odd, i received my own comment and not any previous ones by others...oh well, maybe my gmail ate them.

Looks good Shawn (I did a test build using http://svn.osgeo.org/osgeo4w/trunk).

Sorry for the delay.... i got swamped more than expected this week.

trac.osgeo.org/osgeo4w and svn.osgeo.org/osgeo4w are set up.

I also created an osgeo4w-trac and osgeo4w-commits list and added jeff as admin on those lists.

jeff - i'll email you the passwd.

I created an ldap group for osgeo4w, that currently contains jeff and frank.

Let me know if anything is amiss and i'll close the ticket if all is well. Check that svn is still good b/c it's built from a dump created today so it's not the same as jeff test (though the process of creating it is the same).

The repository seems fine, and I have applied new updates in it.

However, there is no sign that it is getting backed up to /home/back/svn_backup on osgeo2. I observe that the fusion respository is also missing there.

Shawn, could you review what svn respositories are and aren't getting backed up and fix up the missing ones? Also add some notes in:

http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Subversion#Current_Repositories

on the need, and procedure to add new respositories to the backup system?

I haven't looked at the Trac instance yet.

Cc: hobu added

Howard is looking into modifying the backup scripts to automatically operate on all respositories.
