Making Oskari Jetty-bundle available through download.osgeo.org

Description

Hi!

We'd like to offer Oskari (www.oskari.org - currently incubating to become an OSGeo project) through the download.osgeo.org-server. Especially we'd like to offer the version which has Jetty bundled. It's in the form of a zip file which is updated every time we make a new release. Do you think it could be possible and how should we proceed with this?

Kind regards, Timo Aarnio

You will need to provide a public key for use with ssh (for each user that will need access, they also need to have an osgeo account like you do).

Thanks, Alex

We're using jenkins, so this should do if I'm not mistaken.

ssh-rsa AAAAB3NzaC1yc2EAAAADAQABAAABAQC6rmuai+RFdLOopd2LJDE61FQa8rTMkJDOID6EaeZABkKg8KtGLBbidC0vopSgtUQ0Xzxkk+rj6uw4XPXqWBf/phailR3o4auvmIDBRcdC/xpNIBZJfHsDvzoQw9IYVUS7sEDZ182PUWMZocBysBoUtzOuUGtaIZkF1gsm07QPg0+IiHxwc3pGIr9N5kOsS+dbzno+2M3gz1IAHDs5NZjneuYtU00EiOYLOhnXwPnDTOlaAcZDNCBoy/Rd0FMoJb9u4ZjTQbXCqekuRfPxSwA4kpM59rRuuSBKuCoC6px8/DwuNQJSpvKTp1/8cx+9kJnbFN3oL6po1uTqFcvSVcVB jenkins@oskarici01.nls.fi

tmiosmauli -- I had to add you to the shell group as well since you weren't in there.

I installed the above public key in your home so you should be able to

ssh tmiosmauli@… and also sftp with that account and key.

Feel free to open this if you still have issues.

Hi!

We FINALLY got the firewall configuration from our IT-services so that we can connect, but it seems something is still blocking us from accessing download.osgeo.org with SSH. Do we need to provide you the IP-address we're connecting from or should it be open accessible already now?

Thank you for your help!

Kind regards, Timo

No ip blocks on download.osgeo.org. However only allows ssh key access. Are you using the key you provided me to ssh?

Timo,

Let me know if you are still having issue and I'll check on your account.

Forgot to mention we also how a new server repo.osgeo.org using Nexus repo software that can house maven, apt, docker registries - https://repo.osgeo.org/

Let me know if you are interested in that as well.

Are you still having issues here Timo?

SSH'ing works now, thank you!

We might be interested also in the repo.osgeo.org server at some point in time, but given how long it takes for our IT to get a simple hole poked in the firewall it's best if we don't get too ambitious ;)

Thanks for the confirmation Timo. Feel free to put in another ticket for the repo access. You should be able to log in already to it by the way

https://repo.osgeo.org

with your osgeo account.

Hi!

It seems that an administrator should create a download-folder for us, could someone help with that? The wiki-page: https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Download_Server says "It is intended that each interested project should have a directory under /osgeo/download with appropriate permissions so a project member can manage the subdirectories and files. Scp, or sftp can be used to bring files onto the server. Someone from each project will need their LDAP OSGeo Userid shell enabled, for ssh/scp access.

Any administrator can create new project directories, and chown them to a project representative."

Thank you for you help!

Kind regards, Timo

Sorry for reopening an ancient ticket, but the background information is in this one :)

There was some kind of change in the server infrastructure I think, and for a while we were not able to connect and upload our releases. Now the connection issue is solved but it seems the required project directory /osgeo/download/oskari is missing from the server. Could you please check what's going on, are we connecting the wrong server or is the directory not mounted or something else?

Thank you!

Best Regards, Timo Aarnio

Did you use upload.osgeo.org instead of download.osgeo.org (see Download Server)?

Replying to jef:

Did you use upload.osgeo.org instead of download.osgeo.org (see Download Server)?

Previously uploading through "download" has worked but I just updated our script to use upload.osgeo.org instead and it worked (https://download.osgeo.org/oskari/ now has oskari-2.8.0.zip). So this ticket can be closed.

Thanks for the help!
