Description
Can someone with Admin rights on the website add the "Open external links in a new window" plugin to the site and activate it.
The plugin can be downloaded at https://wordpress.org/plugins/open-external-links-in-a-new-window/ or just search from within the "add plugin" dialog
Thanks
Steven

The plugin is quite widely used and seems to be the best option to push external links to a new tab. I've been using it for over a year through several WP upgrades without difficulty.
I'd prefer to force external links to open in a new tab rather than expecting users to right click. There are ca 1000 Community News posts at the moment which mainly lead to external links but there is no way to know that when you click on one of the post titles on our site.

I'm not sure if this is a good idea or not or if it's still even relevant
Steven,
How necessary is this plugin? We generally try to avoid plugins as much as possible to avoid dependency and upgrade issues.
I'm +0 on forcing external links to open in new windows/tabs, it is widely debated what the better default behavior is in the world of tabbed browsing, where users can easily right-click/long-click to open it in a tab if they want.
