BTW, from my personal point of view it's a bit 'unfortunate':

1.) to put such information onto a Wiki that requires login even for simple read access,

2.) to run/maintain yet another Wiki in parallel with the two we already have (MediaWiki, Trac),

3.) to return "Page Not Found" alias 404 for the above Git-Wiki URL, which is just wrong from whichever point of view you choose.

I wonder how much information gets lost due to these conditions.

I also prefer to keep all infrastructure information on wiki.osgeo.org, under appropriate Mediawiki categories.

The Gitea wiki should be only used for non-public information (like, the mantra is stored somewhere in there).

That said, the 404 response is by design, but this is free software so if anyone wants to provide a configuration setting to return a different page please go ahead (NOTE: github also returns 404 if you try to access a private repository while not having read access)

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
