Request for OSGeo user account

Hi SAC,

I had requested for a wiki account for Dr. Ashiwini Supekar, of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), India two weeks ago and she is yet to receive her user credentials.

She is one of the Coordinator of OSGeo Lab at SPPU and wishes to create wiki page for the lab.

I request you to kindly look into the matter.

I see more accounts pending acceptance, I'm accepting all that sound legit. It would be nice to have notifications of this requests because at least for me, it's the first time I see this procedure.

Most of them on their description mention they are related with GIS stuff, I've approved those applying with same kind of biographies and I'm afraid maybe I've been too fast. Have you seen spam coming from accounts with these kind of descriptions? Are our spammers so elaborated? O_O

Someone reported sofisticated spammers, I dunno if any of those is of this kind. For the LDAP confirmation I ask for online presence traces before granting access.

I will reject next applications without it filled but then we should ask explicitly for this.

Yes it makes sense to ask esplicitly. Note that many people might not have a website, but maybe they left digital traces in mailing list archives, forums or whatever other service requiring authentication.

Or they could ask some existing OSGeo user to "guarantee" for them
