Description
We would like to migrate the Italian gvSIG Community mailing list to OSGeo. This community is aimed to promote gvSIG for Italian-speaking users. Would it be possible? We would provide the archive and the list of users.

That seems fine. I assume this ticket hadn't been acted on because no one had time, so if you do, go for it.

OK list created and archive set up.

The list is in moderated state until we decide (tomorrow) if we wait to the migration of the archives and everything from the previous server.
I've added Joaquín del Cerro and Mario Carrera as admins with me and will send the password set up.

This list should now be imported from the tar file provided by Jorge including archives, members and all other configuration options. The list should; however, now know itself as gvsig-italian instead of gvsig-it.
Let me know if you have any problems. I haven't tested much.

OK I sent a test e-mail and it's working. As you say it's working with the address I set up, but the name of the mailing list is like the old one.
Anyway I think we can just send a note to the users and that's all.
Thanks!
This ticket and #1258 are related so we can discuss both here.
The old server is going to be turned off this week, so if no one can take care of the migration of those lists I'd be willing to help ASAP.
Can I create the lists and import the users now so we can move the traffic to OSGeo lists rapidly and afterwards import the archive when someone with access to the server is available?
