Description
The pre-tiling engine proposed by websoft dev (http://www.websoftdev.com/services_spatial_download.cfm) is not supported by MGOS 2.x and upper. They never answer about the compliance of this tool which can be considered as deprecated.
It won't be too difficult to integrate a new function in mapagent, or maybe to open source the code of websoft dev and put the bin in the mapguide server bin directory.

#922 means this is no longer the case

As long as Maestro includes MgCooker, I think we can consider this need to be met by the MapGuide project; I don't think that we need to duplicate this in the Server/Web tiers.
If websoft does not respond to inquries about version compliance, I find it hard to believe that they will open source their code.
The preview release of Maestro has a pre-tiling engine built in (scroll down): http://trac.osgeo.org/mapguide/wiki/maestro/Downloads
Zac Spitzer has a web-based pre-tiling engine: http://zacster.blogspot.com/2008/07/mapguide-tile-cache-seeder.html
