Description
Currently when turn off a layer, the selection of the layer remains visible on map. But hiding the selection highlight for the invisble layers sounds more reasonable. Because there is no known use case requiring keep the selection highlight after the layer has been turned off, I think we could consider it as a defect and get it fixed.

There are legitimate use cases for the current behaviour.
