Minutes

• We welcomed Helli as a new PSC member following the procedure defined in ​Feb 2021 and the results of ​2020's election. Markus Neteler created a ​ticket in OSGeo SAC so Helli can access GRASS PSC files in OSGeo Nextcloud.

• We also welcomed our new treasurer: Markus Neteler.
  • Markus commented that he created a document in Nextcloud with the treasurer role description.
  • Next steps are to move GRASS money to ​OpenCollective (OC), though we'll first issue the second payment to Linda which will be in Euro, and then Moritz will kindly move the remaining GRASS donation money from his personal account to OC.
  • We also discussed the need to reinforce that OSGeo treasurer uses the money approved by OSGeo board when we claim expenses and not GRASS money from donors.

• Anna moved all trac-stored RFCs were moved into Github and we discussed the one about Python language (​https://github.com/OSGeo/grass/pull/2816).
  • Martin suggested to indicate within the RFC that we will be changing the minimum python version required and the current version supported in the ​REQUIREMENTS file so that contributors will know. This should become a step in the release procedure.
  • Once the PR is merged, we will set a motion to approve it.

• Budget:
  • Given this year's experience with the ​budget planning, we agreed to set an additional PSC meeting the 2nd Friday of December before budget deadline. Vero will send the calendar invitation.

• Code Sprint:
  • Martin would be happy to organize GRASS GIS 40th birthday Community Sprint in Prague. Potential date: June, before ​FOSS4G 2023.
  • We set a meeting for Friday, February 17th to start planning the event and in order to submit a complete proposal to OSGeo as required in the ​projects budget table. Vashek already sent out an invitation in grass-dev list.

• Releases: what's missing for 8.3?
  • Single-window PR was merged during the meeting - more testing required, esp in Mac.
  • That leaves us with only one ​blocker issue.

• GSoC:
  • Martin has an interested candidate, Anna will ask Corey, Huidae has a computer science student interested as well

• ​FOSS4G 2023:
  • Martin will probably attend. If yes, we all help with the GRASS talk :)
  • Huidae might attend as well.
