#246 closed enhancement (fixed)
Simplify metadata view (and editor view)

Description
The metadata view and editor view now show all nested structures again (even in default view) with check boxes to show/hide whole metadata sections at once. That feature may be useful for some people, and may thus be available as an option. But it should _not_ be the default view. Can the view please be simplified again by removing those extra levels of visual complexity? At most I would like to see a checkbox at the bottom or top that allows a user to "enable" the checkbox/nested view instead of the default view. (please Jose and Francois discuss this and decide who can do it)

I was looking at this view this morning, and the first thought I had was that the sections should be checked (and thus hidden/folded) by default. Then the user would open the ones they wanted to edit, so reducing screen noise.

Indeed I think it is best to turn it off by default. I would still like to also revert some of the layout back to the "old style" since we have a very nested and heavy view now, even without the checkboxes. I've asked Jose to take this up in the coming two weeks in coordination with you.

Why not turn off the feature using the config option in config-gui.xml ?
I prefer to have the option set for the whole catalogue instead of having the option in the page. Maybe another parameter could be added to do that ?
