#239 closed defect (fixed)

GRASS 6.4.2RC1 does not work under QGIS (and causes crashes)

Reported by: lutra Owned by: martinl
Priority: blocker Component: Package
Version: Keywords:
Cc: jef

Description

Since GRASS in osgeo4w has been updated to 6.4.2 it is available only in qgis-dev.

When running qgis-dev the GRASS plugin seems to work fine, this is the result of g.version from the GRASS console

GRASS 6.4.2RC148715M (2011)

But when adding a vector the program throws

Cannot get projection
Cannot run module
command: C:/OSGeo4W/apps/qgis-dev/./grass/modules/qgis.g.info info=proj

ERROR: Incompatible library version for module. You need to rebuild GRASS
       or untangle multiple installations.

and the vector is eventually added to the canvas.

When adding a raster the message is the same, but this time the program keeps throwing it 2/3 times and then QGIS crashes.

At this stage there is NO GRASS support under QGIS for Windows users.

The stable qgis 1.7.1 was also rebuilt with 6.4.2 - there it works. I'll do a clean build of qgis-dev...

I have tested GRASS packages from CLI, seems to work...

The next nightly build should work too.

Hi Jurgen, thanks for qgis-dev. I still can't see the GRASS plugin under qgis 1.7.1

Did you install qgis-grass-plugin?
