Graticule Object

Mapserver needs the ability to automatically add coordinate system grid, 
graticule, tic marks, labels around perimeter of map (similar to functionality 
found in ArcView's Graticule extension).

I've already implemented an extremely primitive, but effective GRATICULE layer 
that renders simple grids.  It does not have the tics and labels.

Since I need 24 bit rendering support as well, I'll pick up the 3.7 
distribution from CVS and have a look at what you've done so far.
