STYLE TYPE

I suggest adding a TYPE parameter to the STYLE object rather than relying on 
both the TYPE parameter of the LAYER object and the existence or absence of the 
COLOR parameter in the STYLE object.  This would allow all types of styles in 
one layer (point, line, polygon).  For example, a polygon layer might include a 
node point style, an outline line style, and a fill polygon style, all without 
the loss of the color parameter and all in one layer - nice and neat.

We've been talking about this as a way to draw arrowheads too. You should see movement (albeit years after the fact) for 5.4.
