ogrinfo with XML output

The usability of the ogrinfo tool could be greatly enhanced by ensuring the 
possibility of creating XML output with the parameters of the OGR layers. The 
XML output could easily been transformed (with XSLT) in order to create a 
suitable map file automatically using some predefinied XSL templates.

You present a somewhat interesting idea, but isn't a feature high on my
"to implement" list.  Note that it is quite easy to write a C++ program,
or Python script using OGR that would produce specific .map layer entries.
