Description
tested with osgeo4w-wingrass6.4.3svn r52715 and standalone wingrass6.4.3svn r52715 and the nc sample data set on a win vista-32bit and a win7-64bit box.
g.region -a rast=elevation@PERMANENT align=elevation@PERMANENT
for tesing:
- load elevation raster to map display
- switch 2D to 3D in the wxgui-map-display
- 3d works nicely
- switch back to 2D
- quit GUI => python crashes and freezes quit GUI

Yes. This has been a problem for awhile. Happens on both 6.4.3 and 7

tested with grass6.4.3RC1, seems to be fixed. closing the ticket.

Just for the record, it was fixed in r53246 and backported. I just couldn't find this ticket to close it.
