Description
Opening this ticket to not to loose the task in the ml abyss and forget about it, in case documentation update is planned.
It follows related thread on Clarifying support of standards and specs which received Paul's confirmation:
The docs are just really old and haven’t be substantially touched in this area for ages, certainly not much since 2.0 when the wkb/wkt code got entirely replaced. So what you’re seeing is a need for a rewrite.
There is related ticket #2558 and thread on OGC TIN of triangles or polygons?
