Update CREDITS (wherever they are)

strk — I'd really like to get rid of release credits in this file (maybe even get rid of this file entirely). Can we. We already have credits in the documentation where people actually read it and it's also in our release notes and the NEWS file.

Do we really need a 3rd place to keep track of and try to keep in synch with the others? Which file are people supposed to trust? We've got way too many redundant information files. for my liking.

The simpler, the better. Only I think a text file is easier to read than an HTML page you have to generate. Idally we could generate both from the same input source.

Well the news file is already a text file and covers contributors in detail for each release. http://trac.osgeo.org/postgis/browser/trunk/NEWS

Though ideally the News file and the release in the docs would be generated from the same source since one is just a rehash of the other with the one in docs having hyperlinks etc. That might not be worth the effort changing though.

I'm not sure if we really need more than that aside from the main developer list which authors.svn already has. Granted authos.svn may not be the best point of reference for that.

Not sure why this was assigned to me. It looks to me like all of the names in the NEWS file are listed in the "contributors" section of the manual, I think Regina has been doing a great job of keeping this up to date. Unless Regina has any suggestions of other places to look for credits/contributors, I think this is done.

r9445 adds postgis topology pledge signers. more needed…

r9446 adds more credits from the topology pledge and tweaks formatting more. I guess we'll also want the win64 pledge signers in there but seems to take more time to see who really does it..

I added a crowd funding section to credits in manual to summarize our campaign successes. I'm going to consider this done for now. We might want ot have a wiki page somehwere itemizing list of people, but Sandro already folded his in the regular sponsor section.
