there are remarkable tutorials on this site.. short, clear, science oriented and using the same toolset we present on the Live. The pages are simply CMS-based html, so they ought to be straightforward to copy.. I summary, I still think this is a good idea, applicable to the target audience, and a win for the amount of space and time involved!

we will never get more disk space with the current media requirements.. oh well

under which project? the actual text, or just a link at the end of the R, GRASS, GMT, GDAL quickstarts, or another quickstart, or a new page?
rhetorical question: there are some gems in there, but conceptually-- how do we justify linking to Dylan's particular pages and not 1000 other how to geo-program in python docs or slashgeo.org blogs?
more details about ideas for the "how" the "why" please.
