#785 closed defect (fixed)

admin geoserver leads to a 404 not found page.

Reported by: hamish Owned by: live-demo@…
Priority: blocker Milestone:
Component: OSGeoLive Keywords: 5.0, geoserver

the "Admin Geoserver" link points to "http://localhost:8082/geoserver/" but that leads to a 404 not found page. ("powered by jetty")

"Start Geoserver" seems working ok, and you can log in as admin and do things.

can we just remove the "admin geoserver" from the menu?

seems to be an old URL. note this was broken in our 4.0 release too.

changing to http://localhost:8082/geoserver/ seems ok, changed to that.

note this is the same page as the "Start geoserver" icon takes you to, but you don't want to run "start geoserver" twice or you get 2 javas and can't kill the first one without 'killall java'.

also I note the install_geoserver script creates an icon for the Styler, but that's also a dead url. that doesn't get put in the menus though, so I'm ignoring it for now.

done in svn r7111.

checked install_geoserver script and it works with the new URL. in addition to the DEAD URL comment I commented the whole the style desktop cat within the same document, it has never been documented in quickstart guide.

Hi, during this final critical phase I've been leaving tickets open until they are tested and confirmed fixed in the new distributable. otherwise we have to remember a separate list of things which should be fixed in theory but have not been tested in practice yet. thanks

commit critical bug fixes only to trunk/bin/ at this time, even if they seem harmless, thanks x2
