Reported by: darkblueb Owned by: live-demo@…

Component: OSGeoLive Keywords: 4.0

Can we disable the screensaver by default? When running as a Virtual Machine, and emulated OpenGL, it uses up a lot of cycles, and can be non-obvious...

Yes, if you can work out how to disable the screen saver, please go ahead and update

Removing xscreensaver does the trick: apt-get remove xscreensaver

Could someone please check the following line. If it works, then add it to, after the line:

# Uninstall large applications installed by default apt-get remove --yes gnome-games-common \

gimp gimp-data gimp-help-common gimp-help-en libgimp2.0 \ thunderbird pidgin-data

Keywords: 4.0 added

do not touch existing lines at this point. add it on its own "apt-get --assume-yes remove" line if you like, but double check that doesn't try to uninstall half of gnome first.

ps- { { { three curly brackets } } }

(without spaces between)

to code format text.
