I have just uploaded GRASS7 beta4 deb packages to OSGeoLive ppa https://launchpad.net/~osgeolive/+archive/ubuntu/nightly/+sourcepub/4637226/+listing-archive-extra
RC1 is around the corner (29 Dec) so I will test beta4 for now.
I also switched nightly builds to use this version instead of GRASS6

GRASS7 installation worked fine in nightly build . Now we need to find out what broke and how to fix it...

Besides qgis-grass plugin (which is now removed from install_qgis.sh) there is no other breakage report yet. We need a volunteer to go through the grass quickstart documentation and update/test it.

Today I have checked all description files in https://github.com/qgis/QGIS/tree/master/python/plugins/processing/algs/grass7 and updated 70+ of them to be in sync with the upcoming RC1.
The changes are needed and should reach OSGeo-live 8.5.

QGIS version in OSGeoLive 8.5 is going to be 2.6.1, which obviously does not include the above changes. How do you propose those changes to be added? Is there going to be a new processing plugin release for us to update or are you proposing a patch?

I have no clue, it is part of QGIS. Probably a patch would be the best. Here what I have updated recently (kindly processed by Juergen):

This is now fixed in
I was under the impression that there were no GRASS 7 packages yet, but the install_grass7.sh script uses packages from the grass PPA.
There are no official GRASS packages in Debian nor Ubuntu yet, though.
