Opened BrowserClient?->GeoNode?
Scrolled down to the "Tasmania State Boundaries"
Selected "Create a Map"
See a "Connection Error - the server returned a error 404 NOT FOUND" RequestURI=/geoserver/pdf/json

This error message is still shown in 2.6, but it can be ignored.
I updated the docs with a note about this, the new quickstart works fine.
This error is due to the fact that we do not use the GeoNode?-specific GeoServer? build.

This is a known issue for GeoNode? working with a vanilla GeoServer? (without Geonode extensions) like the setup we have in OSGeoLive. It is going to be fixed upstream. https://github.com/GeoNode/geonode/issues/923
