Description
It seems libssl and libcrypto versions on Xubuntu 12.04 are not compatible with native libraries included on gvSIG Desktop.
I've contacted the gvSID devs in order to see what we can do.

jsanz, Can you please include a list of steps to follow to reproduce the error. This is important for someone (who might not be you) can verify the error has been fixed some time in the future.

Sure,
In order to assure that GDAL is working on gvSIG you can try to load a raster file like the TIFF from Natural Earth dataset:
- Create a new view
- At its properties changhe the CRS to EPSG:4326
- Add the TIFF file under data/NaturalEarth folder (changing to gvSIG Raster file on the file type combo-list)
You should see an error message and more details under ~/gvSIG/gvSIG.log file.

Fixed after updating the versions of libssl and libcrypto on the native libraries folder on the last gvSIG debian package uploaded for this release.
