Description
I'd need an account on download.osgeo.org in order to publish GEOS and PostGIS releases when needed.
Currently this task is delegated to Paul Ramsey who suggested to file a ticket here for me to be able to do that too.
Thanks in advance, and sorry if this was not the correct place for such a request.

Thanks, I'm in. I see there's no PostGIS directory actually, only a geos one.
Sudo would be nice, but creating "geos" group for the /osgeo/download/geos (775) and getting me and paul on it would be a good start already. I'm surprised, being a debian system, that I'm not getting my own group, for safely setting umask to 0002.

strk, I've given you sudo. Feel free to create a group or groups for geos and postgis as you see fit.
I presume you don't have your own group due to vagarities of the LDAP account management mechanism.

Replying to warmerdam:

The simple fact that our LDAP user- and group-layout follows well-proven principles doesn't make it a "vagarity" ;-)
Strk,
I have added you to the "telascience" shell access group. You should now have login access to the download server as well as other servers driven by this group. If you have permissions in the postgis area let me know and I can either give you sudo on that server or perhaps adjust the permissions for that directory.
Further info on the download server is available at:
