Description
In Sydney we agreed with Tyler that it would be a good idea to put FOSS4G web site on the second server (the same of the wiki, if I've understood right).
Would it be possible?
I think to have a user on that server, since my work on the drupal (2 years ago?!?!?), but not lbecchi or ominiverdi let me enter with my set of passwords.
I just need a simple php site, ssh access, and setup of the virtual server of apache. http://2010.osgeo.org
please, before changing the DNS of foss4g.org give me the time to copy the files.
thanks
Lorenzo

yep, Jeff, my server is "falling down" little by little and 2010.foss4g.org is the only important site still there.
I've copied the files on the repository: https://svn.osgeo.org/osgeo/foss4g/2010/website/
We need to check out somewhere on OSGeo server and update the DNS
I would love to have a script page that I can call to update the web site from the SVN. In this days I'm going to change it daily. The Prospectus is ready and we have the page to open subscription at the final review.

Thanks Lorenzo.
Since the site is still down we better get this moved right away.
Tyler: can you assist me in pointing an OSGeo host to these SVN files?

I'm setting this up on xblade14 in /osgeo/foss4g/foss4g2010-web as it is convenient to provide Lorenzo access.

I have checked out the site in the directly planned, and added /etc/httpd/conf.d/sites/2010.foss4g.org.conf and restarted apache.
I have also modified 2010.foss4g.org to point to xblade14 (the .219 blade) though this may take up to 24 hours to propogate.
We should keep an eye on the site as I haven't been able to test if it displays properly yet. There could be issues with the php for instance.

Thank you Frank, ping respond to the new server now: PING 2010.foss4g.org (198.202.74.219) 56(84) bytes of data. 64 bytes from marsctl1.sdsc.edu (198.202.74.219): icmp_seq=1 ttl=43 time=190 ms
The php of the site is really simple, a couple of inclusions and a mail form. I've tested the form of the "expression of interest", works fine but doesn't seem to send the e-mail (I've waited only 10 mins).
how can I update the site from the svn?

FrankW: can you create a new user on xblade14 for lbecchi?
Lorenzo: can you change the DNS record for foss4g2010 to point to 198.202.74.219 ?

I have added lbecchi to the LDAP telascience shell access group (access to all ldap based telascience blades) and also added the id to the sudoers file on xblade14.

- updated 2010.foss4g.org.conf to redirect foss4g2010.org to 2010.foss4g.org
- restarted apache
- seems to work
- closing ticket
Site is down again. Let's move the source into OSGeo SVN (such as a '2010' folder at https://svn.osgeo.org/osgeo/foss4g/).
Lorenzo: I have added a '2010' folder there, containing a 'website' folder for your site source files. Let us know in this ticket if your OSGeo user id has proper privileges to commit to that folder in SVN.
Let us know when the files are committed.
