Description
We need some sort of script to trim commit messages to a reasonable size (40K?).
This should be applied to at least the gdal-commits list, and perhaps other projects will also want it.

There is a perl script for email commit messages at:
/var/www/svn/hookscripts/commit-email.pl
I'm not exactly sure if this is the one in use now.
But hobu indicates that there is a better (newer) python based notification script available for svn and that it would likely be more appropriate - likely already having an option to limit maximum email size.
