The link (href) goes to riot.im on this webpage and no longer works due to riot.im being deprecated. I believe most matrix URLs use matrix.to now instead.

Just to be sure, and for completeness, you are proposing to update the communications page in the OSGeo website to replace the link pointing to https://riot.im/app/#/room/#general:osgeo.org by this one https://matrix.to/#/#general:osgeo.org
Is this correct?
I saw in the chat room convo you also mentioned a preview page but seems to me that we should add the matrix.to and maybe the preview afterwards so folks can see there's activity on the channel and join it. Please let us know what you think.

Yes that url: https://www.osgeo.org/community/communications which contains a riot.im link i believe the recommended way to link to a channel nowadays is via matrix.to as you mentioned. That is all I was trying to suggest. Thanks Josh G.

Also in regards to the preview page that is the channels logging function for the chat rooms on Matrix.
