there is a wiki page called "Logs" with some optional searches.. I dbb looked briefly at "recent protection" "orphaned pages" or something that shows errors .. but nothing about Advocates and nothing unusual -- no clues
https://wiki.osgeo.org/index.php/Category:Advocacy
This page has a link, but also 404 you can see this existed at one time, here https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Advocacy
"OSGeo Advocate" is listed among "All Pages" but the link fails

I ran into other pages also failing. Not sure if they are still relevant or not. Looking at their history they appear in the logs in 2010 and 2017:
https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Executive_Positions
And: https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Director_Responsibilities
Did we lose Wiki content without it getting noticed?

The pages have been Archived, looking here: https://wiki.osgeo.org/w/index.php?title=Special:ListRedirects&limit=20&offset=200
No need to recover them! Problem solved for me.

I noticed advocacy is working on staging and so is Neteler's page he complained he couldn't edit, I seem to be able to get to edit screen on staging.
https://staging.wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/OSGeo_Advocate https://staging.wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Executive_Positions #takes me to archived though on staging.
Both staging and production are running the same version and should have all the same plugins enabled though I did not verify https://staging.wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Special:Version
So my guess is some edit with one of the template might have messed something up. I'll restore the wiki database on staging to confirm this is a data issue, but before doing that we should probably care templates between what's in wiki staging and production, to rule out a faulty page template.

Just a note some templates I can't access on production.
Like this one I can edit fine in staging:
https://staging.wiki.osgeo.org/w/index.php?title=Template:OSGeoAdvocateMap-ask&action=edit
But not in production, just hangs

I just checked today:
- https://staging.wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Markus_Neteler: Edit -> Saving -> okay
- https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Markus_Neteler: Edit -> just blank, empty page

today I searched for "meet" in the general search bar of the MediaWiki instance. First try, not logged in; second try, logged in.
both times the search failed with an error page "cannot handle this request" ?

I was wrong about this being a data issue. I just restored production database on staging and it works fine still. I'm not ruling out database corruption of some sort which might have not affected the database dump.

Sadly running optimize on the tables did not do it. My next brute force thing, given I can't see a difference between staging and prod, is to drop the db and recreate. This will require me taking wiki offline for a couple of minutes while I do that.

Should be fixed now, had to disable the AccessControl plugin put in in #2991. I'm going to reopen that ticket.
This link also fails: https://wiki.osgeo.org/w/index.php?search=advocate
