For whatever reason I cannot sudo on download.osgeo.org...

Can anyone please create 

sudo mkdir /osgeo/download/gdal-grass
chown neteler:users /osgeo/download/gdal-grass

Goal: deposit releases from ​https://github.com/OSGeo/gdal-grass/releases

done - but you're also in the sudo group and should be able to do it yourself.
