Description
As I was discussing in OSGeo General with some folks complaining about how hard it is to find useful content.
I noticed the getting started page https://www.osgeo.org/community/getting-started-osgeo/ is very useful except for that humongous image on the page. I have no idea what that image is supposed to tell me, but does make the page load a little slower, and pushes all the useful content way down.
I think getting rid of that image would be a huge improvement.

I find it has a lot of value setting the tone. A wall of text (however useful) provides a terrible experience.
I would not mind seeing a better image of people, or faster loading page, but the important thing having some room to breath and not overwhelming.
While the page has gotten better with headings it is still trying to do too much for too many different people. I hope that the research being conducted by the marketing committee can simplify the experience.
