Description
Received an e-mail from skampus at gmail dot com with the following content, I do not know if the problem was due to the update done on osgeo6:
mail content: hi, it seems that someone has hacked all the QGIS mailing lists on nabble, deleting posts and sending spam. the original mailing list mails were not damaged [1], but only on nabble. is it possible to do something?
thank you

Looks like the underlying issue has been fixed and contents show up again.

jsanz: are the forums on Nabble retrieving the incoming messages from the associated mailing lists and the messages posted in the forums, by users subscribed also to the mailing lists, forwarded to the associated mailing lists?

Sorry Andrea, you are definitely right. As you can see in the topics view for the full organization, no new content is being archived by Nabble.

This takes us again to the point of having to consider Nabble as a broken service that is in fact not under OSGeo's full control. You can read more about the status of the service and the troubles the maintainers are facing on this thread

Nabble has been very useful to provide more friendly access to the mailing lists archives, but unfortunately, I don't see how we can continue leveraging it.
Any ideas are welcome.

I've added a note in the Nabble front page pointing to this issue and stating that at this moment Nabble is not receiving posts from the server.
On the other hand, admins from QGIS and GDAL are re-enabling posting on Nabble on the forums they have permissions, overriding the global settings. For that reason, I won't do any more spam cleaning work there.

Maybe admins from QGIS and GDAL forum on Nabble are not aware of the reason of the issue and they are trying to fix it changing the permissions.
Could it be the case to case to contact them (and all other admins), if somebody knows their addresses?

Fair enough Andrea, added the addresses of the Nabble listed admin groups as CC on this ticket.
Hi admins, please take a look at this ticket.

Jorge, I do not why, but aborruso@… (me) is no more a QGIS Italian nabble admin.
Could you insert me again?
Thank you

Jorge, I do not why, but aborruso@… (me) is no more a QGIS Italian nabble admin.
There is no QGIS Italian administration group, but I can confirm your email is the global QGIS Administrator group along with Paolo and Matteo. Not sure what may be going on, sorry.

Replying to aborruso2:
Hi Jorge, in GFoss Italy I have all
In Nabble QGIS Italia I have nothing
Hi Andrea, sorry for the inconvenience, let me share details off this ticket, to not share screenshots of email addresses or anything.

Should there be anything left to do here please reopen. 2 years seem like a long time to deal with nabble..
It seems now that:
1) the QGIS and probably all other OSGeo forums on Nabble don't retrieve and store anymore the incoming messages from the associated mailing lists
2) the messages posted in the forums, by users subscribed also to the mailing lists, are not forwarded anymore to the associated mailing lists
3) the text of a lot of messages which was previously available in the forums result unavailable and replaced with "CONTENTS DELETED The author has deleted this message." See, for example:
http://osgeo-org.1560.x6.nabble.com/QGIS-Developer-no-collections-displayed-in-wfs3-td5488872.html
http://osgeo-org.1560.x6.nabble.com/QGIS-Developer-It-s-time-to-contribute-to-the-Changelog-for-QGIS-3-20-td5488144.html
This is also very bad because now it is impossible to make a text search among the messages already posted, reducing dramatically the knowledge accumulated over the years in the mailing lists.
The third issue was reported also for other forums on Nabble:
