Description
Planet has informed us that they would like to retire blog.geoserver.org (which is a wordpress instance ... actually hosted on Wordpress).
I know we are running osgeo.org on wordpress, have we learned enough to feel comfortable hosting an additional site (or should we make plans to migrate content to GitHub pages).

Ian Turton is looking at capturing the content as GitHub pages; I am going to let him coordinate this activity (if a wordpress hosting is needed)

Is this ticket still needed or is Ian all set. At a glance looks like the site is still in wordpress running on wpengine.com

Since we now control geoserver.org domain, is it possible to redirect blog.geoserver.org to https://geoserver.org/blog/ ?
If not this item should just be closed.

Yap this can be done. I'll do later today.
So would you want it to be a redirect, or should it really also shhow as
https://blog.geoserver.org (with no redirect)
If you want it to not have a redirect, then I think https://geoserver.org/blog would have to have it's own github-pages set to domain blog.geoserver.org.

okay I've put in a redirect, since it needs to support https as well, I've housed the redirect on osgeo3 under blog.geoserver.org.

I think we are comfortable.
You need help making a backup of the site? We can talk on osgeo-sac IRC about details and I'll set up.
