Description

Hi SAC, we need to redirect europe.foss4g.org to some server, where we are going to host conference web page.

we would like to use drupal.

is it possible to get access to osgeo servers?

or shell we start the server by ourselves now and you will just redirect the DNS record.

Change History (9)

it's going to be wordpress then

jachym I can set up a wordpress instance for this. Should I go ahead and do that and change europe.foss4g.org to point to the new instance.

Alternatively I can give it a dummy name like staging.europe.foss4g.org so you can start working on it and switch the production domain once you are ready.

robe, yes let's set up instance and change europe.foss4g.org to point to the new instance.

Okay I'll get that up today. It turns out I can't just repoint the europe one. I'm in the middle of migrating the old web-extra server -- so I'm going to recode the way this is done.

right now it is in apache and each year has a proxy redirect to the corresponding web host.

I'm going to move it to nginx -- and then have the new wordpress be the 2020

Okay I created a wordpress site and added both of you (jachym, peterisb) as admins. You should have gotten an email to that effect.

https://2020.europe.foss4g.org

I also changed the default home for europe.foss4g.org to redirect to this (replacing the 2018)

If you need anything else let me know

I can for example set up a private git repo on gitea with the basic configs in case you need to change them.

Just a side note -- I thought it was my moving the webextra VM when I noticed 2018 is down https://europe.foss4g.org/2018/ . I concluded though that it's the domain because when I tried get to it directly - https://foss4g-europe.osgeopt.pt I couldn't. And I'm pretty sure it was working last week when I tested it.

https://europe.foss4g.org/2017/ works fine
