Unfortunately something has changed with accessing the osgeo6 machine (I keep the wiki page updated for it at https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Osgeo6); I receive a 'permission denied (publickey)' error now.

Yes, password access has been disabled on osgeo6 and all ssh keys have been invalidated due to a security issue. I'll ping you on IRC to add your ssh pub key for you

Enabled LetsEncrypt certificate for https://geos.osgeo.org (test the certificate at https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/analyze.html?d=geos.osgeo.org )
Confirmed, the certificate is providing drone.osgeo.org Probably just a missed configuration with LetsEncrypt.
