Running an NFS server on a publicly accessible machine isn't overly clever from neither an IT-security nor -operations point of view and I'd wish to emphasize that I strongly disagree with everybody installing their favourite security risks on OSGeo's server infrastructure.

NFS was removed from download and osgeo6. It was reinstated, but port 111 (udp/tcp) is now blocked except on osgeo6 from download and vice versa.
