I meant see http://www.osgeo.org/osgeo_userid for content. I've updated the URLs in there myself, so the page content may be copied verbatim now.

Copied

Preview is here: https://staging.www.osgeo.org/?page_id=5698&preview=true

If you need to change something is here: https://staging.www.osgeo.org/wp-admin/post.php?post=5698&action=edit

Note that the name of the page might no be like the other name. So maybe people will need to be informed of the change when the site is moved.

I made some minor changes to links and went ahead and published it and set the parent to Community->Getting started -- but I don't see it in menu so not sure exactly what that does.

1) would be nice if we had a wordpress template page we can use for stuff like this, that has no pictures, so the main focus stuff can be at top and be in white. The green as you mentioned is a bit hard on the eyes and all the other pages that have the content in white section, have a big huge picture at the top taking up valuable real-estate.

2) Other note -- I noticed this page https://staging.www.osgeo.org/community/getting-started-osgeo/ and fixed the links to use the new id.osgeo.org links.

We do need the /osgeo_userid name to work, is it possible at the wordpress level or does it have to be done at the Apache level ?

I'll rename the page.

Done - https://staging.www.osgeo.org/osgeo_userid

oh I also moved the main content into the main content section, so turns out my whole whining about not being able to have a picture was my ignorance. Looks fine without a picture now.
