Description
Not sure if this is considered a documentation issue or a functionality issue.
In both the documentation and in map file warnings it says that placing
TRANSPARENT ON
in the MAP section of the map file is deprecated and advises placing
FORMATOPTION "TRANSPARENT=ON"
in an OUTPUTFORMAT block.
However this does not seem to work. I've tested on 5.0 and 5.4.
What does work is putting
TRANSPARENT ON
in an OUTPUTFORMAT block.
Thanks, Rich

Okay, I've attached the file "transparent.zip" which contains a README.TXT with a more detailed explanation of the problem, and a sample map file, template file, and shape files.
Thanks, Rich

Assuming that the above is correct, it has been fixed in trunk and 6.0 docs in r12081. I updated the MAP document (imagecolor and transparent).
Rich,
Can you provide more detail on how to reproduce this? Mapfile, data, request, how to check transparency in the resulting file.
