Maestro 5 - Unable to pisition mouse cursor / select in xml editor

If I right click a resource and select "Open resource with XML editor", then I cannot position the cursor by left clicking the mouse. The cursor is always moved to the first character of the line clicked, but it is not positioned at the desired offset. I can use the arrow keys on the keyboard to move the cursor to a specific "column", but not the mouse. That makes it impossible to select anything in the text besides a whole line.
