#289 new defect

ElementVars from dynOverview takes effect at Mapframe1

Reported by: RWoita Owned by: astrid_emde
Priority: minor Milestone: future
Component: administration Version: 2.5 rc6
Keywords: dynamic Overview Cc:

Description

the element_vars 'startExtent' and 'useMaxExtent' from dynOverview takes effect at overview frame and mapframe1 in the same manner. So it could be that a calculated scale from 'startExtent' overwrites the values from module 'setScalehint' at GUI start. After relocating the map, the value from 'setScalehint' will be used. I think, that the correct behaviour should be, that the both element_vars from mod 'dynOverview' does'nt take effect on the mapframe1 anyway.

  • your argumntes seem reasonable to me. But maybe in some applications without 'setScalehint' it is quite nice to define a startExtent and a useMaxExtent
  • a solution could be to set these two variables to false and then they won't effect the the value you sen d with setScalehhint

What do you think about this?
