Histogram tool does not create histogram but a line plot

Description
The histogram tool in the Map Display toolbar "Create histogram of raster map" does not really create what we usually call histogram (which consists of bar plots). Instead, it creates a line plot. So, the name does not really apply. Would it be possible to have proper histograms or is it too much of a hassle?
G7:d.hitogram indeed creates a proper histogram but it is not really customizable.
