Description ¶
r.relief uses solar altitude (default 30 degrees) and azimuth (default 270 degrees) to produce a shaded relief. It would be nice to have a mechanism to estimate solar altitude and azimuth for a given date and time and the current region.
This could be done with the solpos algorithm as used in r.sunhours, or r.sunhours gets enhanced to optionally not produce a raster map, but print estimates for the current region's center.
