Description

The G7:i.segment References section does not contain any references. Do we have any specific papers related to the methods used?

The original GSoC 2012 wiki linked from the manual page says:

I don't think so. But I'll check in my archives of the time whether there was any specific papers.

The original GSoC 2012 wiki linked from the manual page says:

That list was more a general inspiration, AFAIR.

I don't have any trace of specific literature that inspired the region growing algorithm. I just sent a mail to Eric Momsen who developed the first version of the module during GSoC to see if he has any references.

It is the Bins et al. (1996) paper listed in the description of this ticket that inspired the region growing algorithm.
